You can get the Nexus S from RM799 outright without any contract from Maxis. All you need to do is sign up for any Value Plus Internet plan and the Nexus S is your for RM799 at selected Maxis centres and MEPs. The offer starts today until stocks of the device is all sold.
It’s not a bad deal but if you’re in market for a decent Android smartphone, do take into account that the newer 1.4Ghz single-core Galaxy W is just RM200 more at RM999 outright. In terms of specs there’s really nothing much separating the two devices, both have 5MP cameras and 512MB RAM. Aside from that the Galaxy W shoots video in 720p which the Nexus S can’t but on the flipside the Nexus S has a bigger and better screen (4-inch Super AMOLEDS-LCD versus 3.7-inch S-LCD on the Galaxy W). You also get NFC with the Nexus S, on the Galaxy W you don’t.
The big deal is with the Nexus S being a Google phone, you can be sure that the Nexus will get Ice Cream Sandwich sooner that the Galaxy W, actually sooner than most Android devices.
And that’s pretty much it. We’re not discounting that this is still a decent deal if you don’t mind the trade-offs.

Samsung Android Flip Phone review, and launch date in china
0 comments Posted by Syed Salleh at 3:51 PM
In Malaysia, our high end smart phones are mostly in touch screen candy-bar form while flip/clam shell phones are long history. In China, things are a little different there and Samsung has introduced a new Android flip phone which comes with dual-core processor, dual sim slots and dual Super AMOLED screens. The device in question is Samsung’s W999 which is expected to go on sale in China in early 2012.
It runs on 1.2GHz dual-core processor, comes with 16GB internal storage and it is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Normally flip phones are light and compact but the W999 weighs massive 206 grams. That’s even heavier than most QWERTY keyboard slider smart phones out there.
At the back, there’s a 5MP camera which supports 720p HD video shooting at 30 fps and the cover is said to be made out of Hydraskin texture plastic which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S II. Juicing up the dual-screen device is a 1500mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, it supports both CDMA and GSM however 3G is limited to EVDO. This means you’ll get GPRS on GSM network.
Flip phones were trendy about 10 years ago with the likes of Motorola StarTAC/RAZR, Samsung A200 and Panasonic GD88. Just recently BlackBerry has also introduced a clamshell BlackBerry Style for CDMA networks in the US. What do you think if smart phone players could bring flip phones back in fashion again? Let us know in the comments below.

I wish we had a bigger image for ya guys but we make the best with what we’re given. And what we’ve got for you is the Sony Ericsson Nozomi (LT26i). This device was actually pictured awhile back and since then, but this is the first we’re seeing it in an official render. You can see in the (very) small image that a few of the official specs have been cropped out but if you look carefully, “Dual-core” can be made out. Also, since Nozomi is most likely an internal name for the device the official name could be Xperia Cloud but it’s hard to tell with 75% of the device’s name cropped out.
The Nozomi is rumored to be Sony Ericsson’s new dual-core offering featuring a 720p screen and in a new turn of events, seemingly running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Can’t wait to see how the boys over at SE sex-up the Timescape UI on ICS. No word yet on pricing or availability but I am definitely drooling over here.

Today the guys from Wildbit Studios released their popular iOS game Paper Zombie for free to the Android Market. We get dozens of these types of press releases every day, but I went ahead and downloaded Paper Zombie to my phone and found it was a lot more fun than I expected. The easiest way I can describe the game is sort of like Fruit Ninja, but with zombies.
Fernando Rada, CEO of WildBit Studios, shared his thoughts on the release by saying, “The game captures the imagination and conjures up images of spooky zombies, yet without the gore and flesh that is inappropriate for children. Ultimately, it delivers strategic and humorous gameplay that is suitable for the entire family. We are excited to finally deliver Paper Zombie to the Android Market, which represents the most enthusiastic gamers in the world.”
If you want to kill some time this weekend then go download Paper Zombie now and once within the game, enter the code word ‘GOLD’ in the zCode section to get free in-game cash (so you can unlock the chainsaw right away).
Motorola Droid 4 Review, and Launching date in US by Verizon

High-end Android devices and full QWERTY keyboards haven’t been getting along so well lately. Plenty of keyboard-equipped Android phones hit the market all the time, but rarely are they ever flagship quality. There’s really only one series of devices that comes to mind when talking about flagship devices and physical keyboards, and they’re all Droids.
The next chapter in the saga started by the original Motorola Droid is about to be written with the release of the Motorola Droid 4. In keeping with tradition, the Droid 4 will be a flagship spec’d device with a full physical keyboard attached. Specs on the upcoming Droid 4 haven’t exactly been plentiful, but we do know the device will launch with a 4-inch display and LTE connectivity. Physically, the device resembles the Droid RAZR in both design and dimension. It won’t be able to match the RAZR on thinness with a keyboard attached, but it will be pretty slim compared to similar devices.
As far as a release date goes, December 8 is starting to look like a safe bet. There’s good reason to believe Verizon will use this date to release several new devices, including the Galaxy Nexus and two different Xyboard variations (both of which were pictured with the Droid 4, keyboard docks and all). There’s a good chance the Droid 4 will be overshadowed by the Nexus come launch time, but for anyone who needs a physical keyboard on their phone of choice, the Droid 4 will be the way to go.
