Acer Aspire C5


The Consumer Electronics Show 2012 may only takes place tomorrow but the event - with a reputation as one of the largest tech show in the world - has started to gain momentum way before its door is officially open. Acer has joined one of the many CES 2012’s early birds by unveiling a brand new ultrabook and a slim profile notebook just few hours ago.

One of them is the Acer Aspire C5 in which the company claims as the world’s thinnest Ultrabook with a thickness of 15mm at its maximum point. With a weight that is said to be less than 1.35kg, the new ultrabook comes with 13.3-inch LCD display as well as Intel Core processors. The Aspire C5 is also equipped with what the company dubbed as Magic Flip I/O port panel that is located just under the ultrabook’s hinge.

Once the panel is opened, it reveals Aspire C5’s array of ports such as HDMI, USB 3.0 and…check this out: Thunderbolt. Other features of the new ultrabook also include a magnesium-aluminium alloy shell, Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio, chiclet keyboard and PowerSmart battery pack.


Acer Timeline Ultra


At the same time, Acer has also unveiled the new Timeline Ultra notebook which boasts a battery life of more than 8 hours through its PowerSmart battery pack. With a thickness of 20mm, the new notebook is also equipped with Intel Core processors, options of solid state drive or standard hard drive, dedicated GPU and a DVD-Super Multi optical drives. In addition to that, the Timeline Ultra also comes with Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio together with HDMI and USB 3.0 ports.

On top of all that, both devices also features Acer Green Instant On fast resume capability as well as Acer Always Connect software that enable users to access multimedia files and documents from them remotely. The new Acer Timeline Ultra laptop is scheduled to meet consumers within the first quarter of 2012 while Aspire C5 ultrabook will follow through in the second quarter.
