When the first wave of Ultrabook started to hit consumers last year, majority of these offerings were consisted of 13-inch models. While the 13-inch form factor will most probably not going away anytime soon, the new batch of Ultrabooks which are already on their way to the market right now will see the introduction of 14 and 15-inch models.
One of them will be the new 14-inch Toshiba Satellite U840 – the Toshiba’s second Ultrabook after the Portégé Z830 - which will be available in Malaysia starting from this month onwards. Weights at 1.59kg onwards and a thin profile that measures at 19.9mm, the new Ultrabook will be offered with the option of the second generation Intel Core i3 and i5 processor together with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.
Interestingly, customers are also able to choose either a 128GB solid state drive or a hybrid disk drive that offers 320GB or 500GB worth of storage space that is supported by a 16GB flash storage that is built right into the drive. The Toshiba Satellite U840 Ultrabook also comes with other features such as a backlit keyboard, 1.3-megapixels webcam, multi-touch enabled ClickPad as its touchpad and stereo speakers with SRS technology.
The new Toshiba Satellite U840 Ultrabook will be priced from RM 3,399 onwards when it arrives into local stores sometime this month. Check with your favorite IT retailer or visit pc.toshiba-asia.com to learn more about the new Ultrabook by Toshiba.
