Malaysians are not known to be the best or safest drivers in the world, but two years after its inception, close to one million people have supported the Malaysians Unite For Road Safety (MUFORS) initiative. Their support towards the MUFORS initiative has been in the form of pledges to be better road users, votes for road safety, comments, suggestions, sharing of experience, online poll, Facebook and blog postings, short film and mural competitions, road safety seminars and attendance at road shows and promotional events.
MUFORS which is focused on the website www.mufors.org.my is a community project initiated by PLUS Expressways Berhad to empower Malaysians to voice their thoughts and concerns on road safety. It also serves as a platform for individuals to think about how they can play a part to improve road safety and save lives.
“We hope more Malaysians will support this initiative to make it a people’s movement. Each individual should take ownership of road safety until it transforms into a culture,” said Datuk Noorizah who is also Managing Director of PLUS.
