Would be in KL convention center KLCC, for the PC fair exhibition under the Acer booth. i'll be keeping and conducting all the relevant job in making sure that the stock would be sufficient during the fair. Because of that i would have to go to KL PC fair starting from 1 December, till 4 December.

Today new stocks of notebook, desktop, and monitor has piled up all around the office as we have to calculate and enter the serial number inside the system before it is send to KL tomorrow for the PC fair event.

Where else i'll be keeping and conducting all the relevant job in making sure that the stock would be sufficient during the fair. Because of that i would have to go to KL PC fair starting from tomorrow 1 December, till 4 December till the event ends.

Proton has announced the introduction of the Saga FLX SE, which we “previewed” last week, all thanks to an erstwhile reader and a leaked brochure.

Danny’s story already carries most of the tech details, so the big news is really about the photos of the car and the price – the 1.6 litre Campro and CVT-equipped vehicle rolls in at RM49,899 (metallic) and RM49,449 (solid). There are only two shades, the Fire Red as seen in the photos (which is the metallic), and Solid White.



Priced RM2,900 above the current selling 1.6 litre automatic Saga FL, the Saga FLX SE features eight exterior and three interior changes. It’s fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels, an complete factory-fitted body kit in contrasting grey, fog lamps and smoked-finished combination rear lamps.

Meanwhile, the 108 hp and 150 Nm vehicle’s interior gets a healthy dollop of leather; hide is to be found on the seats, steering wheel, door ornament as well as the parking brake and gearshift levers.



The company is hoping to shift around 500 units of the Saga FLX SE per month. Oh, and customers who have ordered a Saga and are still waiting for their car to be delivered can opt to change their booking to the FLX SE at the respective showroom in which the booking was originally made.

If you’re thinking of viewing the FLX SE, don’t rush out just yet, because the car will only be at all Proton showrooms from tomorrow, December 1.

With Siri being the centre of attention for the iPhone 4S, there’s always room for competition in Voice Assist. So far the closest competitor we’ve seen is Vlingo and Google Voice Actions, which works pretty well for our local Malaysian accent.

On paper, Cluzee appears to be impressive and even claims to help you multi task better with its features. Some of the key highlights include a travel planner to book trips, a health planner to keep track of your calorie intake and even a daily brief which reads out the latest news headlines. Just like Iris, the knowledge engine is powered by True Knowledge.

So is it any good? It offers some extended features but we found that some of the basic commands like facebook or twitter updates to be broken. On certain Android models, Cluzee simply won’t work and keeps on crashing repeatedly. On the Samsung Galaxy Note, the screen appears to be truncated without filling up the entire screen. So it’s slightly better than Iris but no where near Vlingo at this point.

Today we had to get ready for the free gift stock that would be send to KL tomorrow for the PC fair exhibition that would be held there at the convention centre. So much preparation has to be done for the event.

HTC hasn’t been doing remarkably well recently and their HTC Sensation isn’t exactly flying off the shelves as we had hoped. However HTC isn’t resting on their laurels as they are said to be working on the next big thing.

What you see above is the HTC Ville which rumoured to be running on dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 4.3″ Super AMOLED qHD display and better 8MP camera with 1080p video shooting support. From the photo, the phone still has the usual 4 capacitive buttons which means it is running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread instead of debuting with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

What’s worth mentioning is that the HTC Ville is said to be under 8mm thick which puts it between Motorola RAZR’s 7.1mm and Samsung Galaxy S II’s 8.49mm. In terms of availability, it is expected to be announced at the Mobile World Congress in February with shipping to start in April.

Motorola has finally announced the Dinara – officially known as the xT928 – for China Telecom. The device is no slouch as it touts a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, a 4.5 inch 720p display, a 13 megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p HD video, a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and more.
Motorola says that it isn’t camera inside of a phone, but rather it’s a phone inside of a camera. We know well enough not to go by sheer numbers when determining camera sensor quality, but we wouldn’t mind being able to test these claims ourselves.
We may have a chance to do just that, though, as rumors have long suggested that this device will eventually get a launch on AT&T. We’ll remain hopeful anyway. Read on for full press details.

Sony introduced two new Android tablets, one features a typical tablet design and is known as the Sony Tablet S, but the other one, the Sony Tablet P, sports a completely different look. The device is actually the first ever "foldable" Android powered tablet which features two 5.5-inch dual-touchscreen displays with Sony's TruBlack technology (also used in Sony's Bravia TV range).

Unfortunately, having a unique design and a prestigious brand name equals a hefty price tag. Sony launched the 3G version of the Tablet P in the UK where it costs £500 or approx. $750. We're hoping the price will be different in the US, but unless it drops a few hundred dollars, it's safe to say this thing will be DOA.

One of the most debated apps in Android history. Bring up the task killer debate among any group of loyal Android fans today, and you’ll most likely see some tempers flare.

In theory, task killers (or task managers) are a necessary tool in the Android arsenal. There have been plenty of times when an app won’t close or open, and the only way to fix it is to kill it and start over. Or maybe you’re a developer and you need to kill or manage apps as a part of the development process. Unfortunately, task killers are rarely used in these kinds of situations. Instead, they’re used as the first line of defense against battery problems and sluggish performance. Every time someone less informed picks up their phone, it’s kill everything, every time.

For quite some time now, it’s been shown that task killers do not increase battery life, and they do not make your phone faster. There are a million and one technical reasons for this (see here, and here, and here), but it comes down to how Android manages apps and memory. Android doesn’t need a task killer, because it’s smart enough to manage apps on its own. If you need to see some real world tests to back that up, then we’ve got you covered.

PC World did some relatively extensive tests on five different phones (EVO 3D, Sensation, Thunderbolt, Bionic, Galaxy S II) to see how using a task killer played a role in battery life. The test used is rather simple. Each device was tested six times, three times using a task killer (Advanced Task Killer) and three times without. A video loop was played on 4G, at maximum brightness, until the phone died. The phone using a task killer had the app set to “safe,” so it only killed “apps that aren’t open but still consume memory,” every 30 minutes.



The best increase any device saw was 4.2% using a task killer. The worst results were a 0.5% decrease. Tests like this aren’t the final word in the task killer debate, but they certainly add some weight to the argument against them. Especially when you consider that the test was used with a task killer on safe. Not agressive, paired with a unending amount of manual kills. In that kind of situation, you can assume that the results would be worse.

However you decide to run your phone is entirely up to you, but take it from the experts. Using a task killer WILL NOT give you significantly better battery life.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is almost ready for release on Verizon, marking its official debut appearance in the US. If some “credible reports” and a phone call from Verizon are correct, then the Galaxy Nexus will go on pre-sale tomorrow, with a release date of December 8.

According to Computer World, the stars have finally aligned to reveal the pre-order date for the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus. They say the date will be tomorrow, November 29. Computer World is saying the date has been confirmed by multiple Verizon employees, as well as Mike “micdawg” Peak, who shared his experience with Verizon customer service.

Not much has been known about the LG Nitro, but it happens to be the US version of the LG Optimus LTE, which was announced in Korea last October.

Two of its main features include LTE connectivity and its stunning display. The Nitro happens to have a similar display as the iPhone’s, which they call Retina Display. The iPhone’s screen is something Apple has always been proud of. This Advanced High-Performance IPS display is actually better, though. It happens to be bigger (4.5-inches) and the resolution is much better (1280×720, 329ppi). Let’s take a deeper look at the specs:

The Asus Transformer Prime is the hottest tablet this holiday season to offer the full Android experience. Pre-orders for the device on Amazon sold out in one day and the different models dominated the best selling tablets list. An official release date announced probably on December 8th in the US.

Out of all the retailers offering the Transformer Prime, it appears GameStop has the best bundle package. For $539.98, customers get the 32 GB Transformer Prime, wireless bluetooth controller, and several free games including Dead Space, Re-Load, Sonic CD, Monster Madness, Riptide GP, and Cordy.

All signs are still pointing towards an early December release. Newegg has the estimated release date listed as December 8th and GameStop pegs it at December 9th. We still expect the Transformer Prime to ship with Android 3.2, but NVIDIA already demonstrated it running Android 4.0 and a software update is expected before the end of the year

Sony Ericsson earlier confirmed that its entire 2011 line-up of Xperia smartphones will be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, by March 2012.

That question has now been answered by Sony Ericsson Italy’s Head of Marketing, Maurizio De Palma who announced via Sony Ericsson Italy’s Facebook page that ICS will be coming to the all 2011 Xperia models by March next year. Because there is almost no operator customisation in the Sony Ericsson smartphones that we have here in here, you can expect Malaysia to be among one of the first countries to get the update as soon as it is released.

It seems to be raining tablets in Malaysia with massive offers and smaller sized tablets coming our way. The Motorola Xoom is now more attractive with another round of price cut. According to IMCC, the Motorola Xoom WiFi is now priced at RM1,399 while the Motorola Xoom WiFi + 3G version is going for RM1,599. That’s a massive price difference which is almost RM1,000 less from its launch price. This offer is valid from IMCC while stocks last.

Toshiba earlier today has also unveiled the new line of REGZA tablets for Malaysian market. The new Android tablet series is available in two different form factors - 7-inch and 10.1-inch – and is powered by NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor which is paired together with 1GB of DDR2 RAM.

REGZA AT1S0, the 7-inch tablet also comes with an internal memory of 16GB together with 2-megapixels front facing camera and microphone; 5-megapixel rear camera. The 10-inch REGZA AT100 on the other hands also offers the same camera configurations but with larger 32GB internal storage together with full-sized USB and HDMI ports. Both tablets are built with slip-resistant rubber body - AT100’s even comes interchangeable back colors with a choice of five different colors – and equipped with multi-touch display that offers resolution of 1,280x800.

For now, only standalone Wi-Fi model of the Toshiba REGZA AT100 tablet is available in the market with a price tag of RM 1,699 while the 7-inch Toshiba REGZA AT1S0 will only be out later on. At the same time, there is no confirmed release schedule on 3.5G-capable models as well.

It looks like Google is really trying to push their Chromebooks this holiday season, judging by the series of new promotional videos on their website.

We admit that these shorts are really cute and pack a punch with their witty one-liners, and to be honest, we'd love to get our grubby paws on a Chromebook right now although the $299 price does look a little steep for a very limited use machine.

Accent and proficiency is key but at least we know Siri is able to recognise Indian accent. For the general Malaysian, it might be a challenge for those with not so perfect proficiency with mix of Malaysian lingo.

The RAZR can be yours by maxis package as low as RM999 on their latest 6GB data bundle which costs RM98/month with a 24 months contract.

As usual, the data package can be bundled with postpaid voice plan as low as RM30/month on Maxis Value First. For the least commitment, you can opt for 12 months contract that offers the RAZR at RM1,799 with a 500MB plan. Honestly this 500MB option isn’t really worth it as you could get it outright slightly under RM1900 if you looked hard enough.

As usual, you have a choice of 3 plans and 2 contract periods – 12 months and 18 months. The cheapest offer of RM328 is applicable on the Celcom Exec 250 with 2 years duration. At the bare minimum, it is offered at RM708 on 12 months contact of Celcom Exec 50 + 1GB Data plan.

Today is just a normal day, warranty from HCL just arrive sending the acer notebook adapter which was damage previously. So i have to revert it back in the system, so the driver could send to the previous branch to proceed and give to the customer back.

Today i manage to complete a couple of normal task such as receiving, and forwarding the warranty item towards the branches back and also rearrange the report and notes in the big file in making sure that it is much more organize.

LG has silently released 2 new models, the LG Optimus Pro and the LG Optimus Net. The LG Optimus Pro is a QWERTY candybar Android smart phone priced at RM649 while the LG Optimus Net is priced at RM749.



Both Optimus Pro and Net comes with 800MHz Qualcomm processor and runs on the rather recent Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. In terms of memory, the Optimus Pro has a rather small 256MB of RAM while the Optimus Net has a more decent 512MB of RAM. For the display, the Optimus Net has a decent 3.2″ HVGA screen that pushes 480×320 while the Optimus Pro has a smaller 2.8″ QVGA screen which is also capacitive one. At the back, both comes with 3.15MP Camera which shoots VGA videos at 24fps.

Despite having low-spec to mid-range features, both Optimus devices come with a rather generous 1500mAh battery. It is commendable that LG has finally released new devices with Android 2.3 Gingerbread in order to keep up with the rest of the Android versions. Now those that are looking for a decent smart phone below RM1000, LG has just thrown in more options to choose from.

So if you are in the market for a decent Android Smartphone below RM1000, you've got more to choose from.

A couple of months ago, a leak showing LG’s 2011 smartphone surfaced on the internet and today, LG confirmed at least one of the products listed – the LG Prada K2 – with a concept sketch together with some early details. Called the Prada Phone by LG 3.0, the sketch reveals a very slim design featuring a nice big screen at the front, speakers at the top as well as what looks like a semi-hidden speakers on the back.



Spec wise, if the leaked lineup is true, the device will come with a second generation 4.3” Nova screen with up to 1,000 nits, a dual-core processor, 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera, and powered by Android 2.3 though, depending on the time it comes out, it might be shipped with Android 4.0 on board.

Both companies promised that the phone will arrive in early 2012.

The new Toshiba Protégé Z830 Ultrabook fits every general criteria that define the genre: lightweight, slim and powerful. Revealed for Malaysian market just moments ago, the new 13.3-inch Ultrabook weights at 1.12kg and features a chassis that is made of magnesium alloy with honeycomb structure that measures at 15.9mm at its thickest point.

Internally, this particular unit is equipped with 1.80GHz Intel Core i7-2677M dual-core processor with Turbo Boost speed of 2.90GHz and Intel HD Graphics 3000 together with 6GB of DDR3 RAM, a 128GB solid state drive and a HD LED display with maximum resolution of 1366x768.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 has landed in Celcom. The telco is offering the device from as low as RM1,288, that’s RM411 off from the retail price.



Celcom is currently offering the device on either its Celcom Broadband Basic or its Celcom Broadband Advance package. You can also choose to sign up for a 12 or a 24 month packages with different subsidy.

Today i have to calculate and re update the total stock for RAM of all specific brand that includes Acer, Apacer, Kingston and much more, where the detail is provided by each branch staff, which i would then update the quantity of the RAM by each specifi brand in the system.

While the upcoming ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be shipped with Android 3.2, ASUS has confirmed that the tablet’s operating system can be bumped up to Android 4.0 a.k.a Ice Cream Sandwich once it is available. Thanks to recent source code release, NVIDIA has come out with a brief demo to show how the new operating system on the Transformer Prime.



The demo showed couple of new features on Ice Cream Sandwich such as the transition between app and widget screen as well as the ability the create folder on the home screen by dragging the icon on top of each other. In addition to that, NVIDIA also demonstrated the tablet’s 1080p video playback and a game called Riptide GP which takes advantage of the tablet’s Tegra 3 processor.

It looks like Lenovo may just be the latest company to jump on board the Phoneablet bandwagon, following in the Galaxy Note and the less successful Dell Streak. An anonymous tipster sent Engadget some pictures of what is meant to be a dual-core 5inch Android Tablet that may be marketed under the usual LePad braining in China and IdeaTab everywhere else. Of course as it goes, not much is known about the device, but it looks like from photos, there is a micro USB port, HDMI and front facing camera. There is a strong resemblance to the Dell Streak with this device and perhaps being that 0.3inches smaller than the Galaxy Note may just be the sweetspot that Lenovo are looking for. Or not.

Today I have recount the total number of modem, by contacting each branch and note the total quantity so stock adjustment could be done towards the company system.

We won’t deny it, the Motorola RAZR is one device that we’re really looking forward to get our hands on. The RAZR is, undeniably, the most wonderfully designed smartphone right now, but is the RAZR’s beauty skin deep?

On paper, the RAZR certainly brings all the credentials to make it a top contender. The world’s slimmest smartphone features a dual-core 1.2GHz processor that’s based on the same Cortex-A9 core as the 1.2Ghz Exynos powered Samsung Galaxy S II, both devices have 1GB of RAM and also 8MP camera that shoots 1080p videos.

We’ve had a couple of days usage with the RAZR and in terms of performance, the device does feel like it can keep up with the Galaxy S II. Comparing them side by side, we dare say that the RAZR is just as fast as the galaxy S II, if not faster.

Indeed the RAZR has the performance to keep up with the leading Android smartphone in the world right now, there’s no denying that, but one of the key performance factors that is in the minds of many would be RAZR owner is the camera. How good is it? How does it compare with the Samsung Galaxy S II? All these questions have remained generally unanswered — until now.

Test Method
We’ve taken some test shots taken indoors under warm yellow lighting. We setup five shooting conditions, normal indoor light, low-light, extreme low-light, low-light with flash and normal light macro.

We also took video samples from the devices. In one continuous shoot we compared both normal indoor light and low light. For all the samples the cameras were all setup in auto mode with auto white balance in the highest resolution setting. For the macro shots, we changed the focus setting to macro and that’s it. For the video sample, all samples were shot in full 1080p resolution.

Findings
The samples are at the end of the article, you can click on each for the full resolution image. As you can see, the RAZR produced the best white balance, staying true to the real colours of the subject matter. Both the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note struggled to produce accurate colours but the trade up to that is the colours coming from the two Galaxy devices look richer albeit artificially warmer perhaps due to the yellow light the pictures were shot it. We get more shots under natural light to see if the auto white balance on the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note do generally oversaturates colours.

White balance is the only thing the RAZR does well in this company. Looking at the 100% crops in all the shots you can see that the RAZR suffers when it comes to capturing details. You can see that the difference is considerable.

Comparing the two Galaxy devices, we noticed that while the S II and the Note both have 8MP sensors — and you’d assume that they are identical units — the Galaxy Note looks be slightly better at capturing details. Either way, both the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S II exhibits good detail. The RAZR, on the other hand, lags behind in this respect.

In low-light conditions, noise is very noticeable in the pictures coming from all three devices. While in certain shots the RAZR produced less noise, the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Note still captured better details.

In videos the difference in details is not so pronounced as it was in pictures. In this instance we’re satisfied with the quality of the Motorola RAZR’s 1080p capabilities. With the Samsung duo, we see the same white balance issues as in the pictures and just like in the picture samples, details are good as well, and once again the Galaxy Note is particularly good in this company.

It’s worth pointing out that both the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II have continuous focus when shooting video while the RAZR uses tap to focus. We prefer the tap to focus system on the RAZR as it gives more control when shooting.

Where the RAZR really shines is in producing great bokehs. This can be seen in the macro shots. In fact, we’ll go so far as to say that the bokeh produced by the RAZR is just as good as dedicated cameras and this is something we really like. Macro is also where the RAZR leads allowing us to get closer to the subject than on the two Galaxy devices, but once again the lack of detail on the RAZR left us wanting.

At the end of the day
The Motorola RAZR is an outstanding device with a stellar built quality in a beautifully crafted body and snappy dual-core performance to boot. Its amazing that Motorola has managed to cram so much in a body that’s over 2mm thinner than the iPhone 4 (9.3mm). At just 7.1mm, the RAZR is also over 1mm thinner than the Galaxy S II (8.5mm).

When the RAZR was introduced, we find ourselves contemplating on actually purchasing the device, that’s how good we think the RAZR is. Given how common the Galaxy S II is, the RAZR then makes a great choice for those who want to stand out from the crowd. With the RAZR you get similar performance to the Galaxy S II, better built quality and an immensely better design, but the fact that the Galaxy Nexus with its delicious Ice Cream Sandwich OS looming in the horizon is holding us back.

Yes, we know that ICS will come to the RAZR early next year and that’s a factor that we chalk up as a plus for the Motorola unit but looking at the camera performance, we’re now more inclined towards the Galaxy Nexus.

But we will have to point out that the discrepancy in camera performance between the three devices is not a lot. And so at the end of the day if you’re contemplating on whether you should get the RAZR or not, one question you should ask yourself is if you can live with the fact that the RAZR’s camera is just so slightly not as good as its peers.

If you’re ok with that then you’re fine. And we still think the RAZR is a very special device.

In the last few months, Samsung has come up with a set of new tablets, like the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.0 and Galaxy Tab 7.7. The first three mentioned tablets are already available in the U.S. but what about the 7.7? Well, the tablet is now under FCC for testing and approval, so bar any unforeseen problems, I'd say we should be seeing it some time in the near future. Hopefully, Samsung will spill some information about it soon so we can have a few more details. What we do know, is that the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be the world's first tablet to come with a OLED Super AMOLED Plus display (1280x800 resolution) as well as a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor, Honeycomb, 16GB to 64GB internal storage and a microSD slot, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3MP camera at back and a 2MP camera in the front for video chatting.

Twitter user TechFanatix has tweeted a screenshot of what appears to be a Verizon internal email which suggests that the hotly anticipated Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be finally launching on December 8th.

Since we’ve seen launch dates come and go, even in Verizon’s internal systems, we’re throwing the rumor tag on this post for now, though we can’t imagine this date being too far from the truth. If the December 8th date holds up, that gives us 20 agonizing days of waiting for the flagship Ice Cream Sandwich device that was launched in the UK yesterday.

Regardless of when the device actually launches, the next iteration of Android is right around the corner. Soon you Verizon customers will be relishing in the sweet taste of Ice Cream Sandwich.

The rugged Motorola Defy+ smart phone with a IP67 rating now gets a tougher new edition. Motorola in the UK is releasing a JCB edition of the device which comes with a specially designed exterior case which improves its shock resistance capabilities.

Internally it is the same as the normal Defy+ with a 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and a 3.7″ WVGA display. In addition, the Defy+ JCB Edition will get a longer 2 years warranty as opposed to the usual 1 year. Pre-installed are some tool-man apps such as torch, therodolite, spirit level and even a decibel reader. It is priced at £268.80 outright with sales starting in early December in the UK.

This isn’t the first phone from the heavy machinery company as they have a range of rugged ToughPhones that are also IP67 certified. The Toughphone tradesman is the world’s first floating Phone while the Toughphone Pro-Talker even comes with a 2 way radio. Comparing the Defy+ and the Toughphone, the Motorola version is a lot smarter and better looking without compromising its rugged credentials.

It was earlier revealed that the Galaxy Nexus will not come with Corning’s Gorilla Glass protection. This was a shocker as most smart phones today will come with this strengthen glass which protects from daily abuses.

Today the office had a half day shift which starts from 9am-1pm. So not much job has to been done, except I have to manage some warranty stocks that has been fixed or exchanged which come's from the distributors where I have to then distribute to the specific branch which has send em.
