Acer Aspire S3 Malaysia review

Acer's Aspire S3 was the first to hit the market here in the States, and with an entry price of $899, it's currently the least expensive. That it's skinny (just 13mm thick, to be exact), should be a given, but it also claims to wake from sleep in two seconds flat and reconnect to known networks in two and a half. But, as the least pricey Ultrabook on the shelf, it also forgoes some cool specs that includes all-flash storage and USB 3.0.

Acer Aspire S3 specs:

13.3″ LCD display @ 1366×768 pixels
Intel Core i5 2467M 1.6GHz dual-core
Intel HD Graphics 3000 w/ 128MB RAM
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
1.3MP webcam
2-in-1 card reader
2 x USB 2.0 port
HDMI port
Windows 7 Home Premium

Review by CNET, we could see below:

The good: With a slim, MacBook-Air-like design at a reasonable price, the Acer Aspire S3 is an example of how the Ultrabook laptop category can work if done right.

The bad: The construction is a step below superpremium, connectivity is limited, and battery life is on the low side of acceptable.

The bottom line: The Acer Aspire S3 is the closest you can get to the look and feel of a MacBook Air for less than $1,000, but it requires a few compromises.

So lets ask ourself, is this the new MAC edition notebook by acer. Thin slim and sexy.. I'll be looking forward towards notebook by acer, hopefully they would have one with integrated graphic card in it.

Moreover, lets check out the windows rating on the Acer Aspire S3 below

In malaysia it would price about RM 2699..

The only worse thing I realise about it, that it doesn't have a VGA port, so its kinda hard to do presentation on old projector.
