Last month, Research In Motion has announced that future BlackBerry will be running on a new operating system called BBX which essentially is the marriage between features from existing BlackBerry platform with QNX operating system that is currently used on BlackBerry Playbook tablet. No confirmed release date has been mentioned so far but with the leak of this image, it should be an indication that work is already in progress over at RIM.

Dubbed as BlackBerry “London”, this particular device is said to be equipped with a 1.5GHz TI OMAP dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel main camera and 2-megapixels front facing camera. The device is shown running on a variation of PlayBook operating system with some tweak here and there but then again, it was said that this particular unit is just a “dummy” device which could mean that what is shown on the display is just a static image.

The design of BlackBerry “London” seems to come directly from the recently announced Porsche Design P’9981 with its boxy edges but it was reported that the device is roughly the same size as Samsung Galaxy S and thinner than iPhone 4, yet it can stand straight up on one of its sides. Hold your horses though, the device is said to be ready for production only in Q3 2012…which is quite a while away.
