This LG Revolution might seem like any another Android smartphone out there but don’t let the looks fool you. This particular device is actually able to run two instances of Android operating system at the same time with the help of VMWare’s Horizon Mobile virtualization software.
A user can switch to each instance instantly without the need of shutting them down and both instances can be made of different versions. For example, this particular prototype unit features Android 2.3 Gingerbread and Android 2.2 Froyo right on the same device. A representative at the LG's booth in CES Unveiled 2012 explains that through the dual-OS capability, a user can separate his or her LG Revolution into spaces specific for personal and work purposes without missing any updates in either instances.
Despite having dual operating system, the technical specifications for the device is still the same as a standard LG Revolution. More information of its availability will only be made known in upcoming months but since it is made to be used with LTE networks, don’t expect to see this device in Malaysia just yet.
