Earlier this week Samsung announced two new value Android phones and today Motorola is introducing two devices of their own that won’t break the bank. Today Motorola revealed the Motoluxe and Defy Mini would be coming to Greater China, Europe and Latin America this spring.

The Motorola Motoluxe is described as a “hip device” and features Android 2.3, 4 inch display, 8 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, and a 1400 mAh battery. Following the popular trend, Motorola will offer the Motoluxe in licorice or white.

Next we have the Defy Mini, which Motorola has branded as “life proof”. This tough little phone is dustproof, water-resistant, and features Corning’s scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass. Other highlights of the device include Android 2.3, 3.2 inch display, 3 MP rear camera with flash, VGA front camera, and 1650 mAh battery.

Both phones will feature Motorola’s MotoSwitch user interface, which I guess is the new name for the now defunct MotoBlur. MotoSwitch is focused on a user’s social graph. The more frequently a user communicates with someone, the bigger their icon becomes on the homescreen widget.

Once again, neither of these devices might appeal to our hardcore audience, but they could perform well in the prepaid market. Motorola will have the pair of devices on display at CES next week, so check back for some hands-on time.
