Hoping that Samsung would really go on and introduce the Samsung Galaxy S III at the Mobile World Congress happening at the end of this month? Well, all your hopes and dreams can now be crushed because the company has announced that it won’t be happening. Of course, the phone is real and will be coming in the near future, it’s just that the company won’t make another early announcement and then launch the phone several months later. Instead, Samsung will be launching the “successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone” at a different event (first half of the year) closer to the launch date.

Samsung is looking forward to introducing and demonstrating exciting new mobile products at Mobile World Congress 2012.

The successor to the Galaxy S2 smartphone will be unveiled at a separate Samsung-hosted event in the first half of the year, closer to commercial availability of the product.

Samsung stays committed to providing the best possible mobile experiences for customers around the world.

It’s not all bad news though, if you recall, Samsung announced the Galaxy S II at the last MWC and waited a whopping 4 months before actually launching the real device. During the wait, the company upgraded the specs of the device from a 1.0GHz dual-core processor to a 1.2GHz dual-core processor so the wait for the S III might actually be worth it.
