If you have already read about MSI R7800 Twin Frozr series graphic card that we posted earlier, this particular news might not be new to you but those who haven’t heard of it, AMD has just announced two new GPUs for its Radeon HD 7000 series – the Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition and 7850. These GPUs are the fourth batch of Radeon HD 7000 release since January 2012 after HD 7970, 7950 and 7770 GHz Edition/7750.

Still based on the new 28nm GCN architecture, the Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition and 7850 shared the same amount of GDDR5 memory at 2GB running at 1200MHz. However, both GPUs run at different clock speed with 1000MHz for Radeon HD 7870 and 860MHz for Radeon HD 7850. They are further differentiated by the amount of stream processors, texture units, texture fillrate and pixel fillrate which in hand contribute to computing power that are equivalent to 2.56 TFLOPS and 1.76 TFLOPS for each card respectively.

As mentioned earlier, AMD’s add-in board partners have already gearing up to bring new graphic cards based on both GPUs to the market later this month and one can expect to obtain them with price tags starting from RM 1,053 (USD 349) for Radeon HD 7870 as well as from RM 751 (USD 249) onwards for Radeon HD 7850.
