No matter what is your take on it, there is simply no limit to the reach of 1Malaysia branding. From clinics and convenience store to mineral water and energy bar, the brand is everywhere and here’s another addition to the family: 1Malaysia Tab.

That’s right, folks - 1Malaysia-branded tablet. Claimed to be the first Malaysian-built tablet in the market, we don’t have much information on the technical aspect of the tablet except that it is an Android-based 7-inch tablet with 3-megapixels camera. It also apparently comes with its own messaging service called 1Malaysia Messenger and the support for 3G connectivity.

With initial sales target of 5,000 units by its creator MalTechPro Sdn. Bhd., the 1Malaysia Tab is priced at RM 999 for the first 999 units. For further information about 1Malaysia Tab, you can get in contact with MalTechPro through the emails that are listed at www.maltechpro.com which is pretty sketchy looking in all honesty but it is currently the company’s only official communication channel that we know so far.

A brief hardware and software specification of this 1Malaysia Pad;
  1. Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
  2. WiFi & 3G Connectivity
  3. 1MM app which offers free messaging between WhatsApp and Blackberry Messenger
  4. 4,000mAH battery
  5. 32GB microSD storage
  6. 3MP camera (rear)
  7. 0.3MP camera (front)

    Crap! I can even see BN logo in the demo promotional photo above. I don't think a smart and successful company will tag himself with political parties, you can imagine their credibility and motive of this school project product. Period.
