A while ago, Razer made it into our headline when a picture of its ambidextrous and transforming (to say the least) mouse - Razer Ouroborus - which was still in development that time got leaked out via FCC. The mouse is now no longer in hiding though as the gaming peripherals manufacturer has officially announced it earlier this week.

What made this Ouroborus wireless gaming mouse so different from Razer’s previous gaming mice is its customizable ergonomics feature. It is equipped with adjustable rear panel and back arch together with interchangeable side panels to suit all types of mouse grip and wide range of hand sizes. The mouse is also equipped with 8200dpi optical-laser sensor combo and a handy DPI trigger that enables its user to temporarily increase or decrease and hold the mouse’s DPI rate when the need arises.



Runs on a single AA battery, the Ouroburus is said to able to last up to 12 hours of continuous gaming but if changing batteries is not your thing, Razer has also included a rechargeable battery with it and don’t worry, the mouse can still be used even when it is plugged to PC. Expected to be available sometime in fourth quarter of 2012, the Razer Ouroburus will be priced at RM 411 (USD 129.99).

Launching alongside new iterations of its BlackWidow keyboard, Razer's latest gaming mouse just went official. We spotted the ambidextrous Razer Ouroboros just a few months ago, courtesy of some federal filings, and now we have the official line on its specs and layout. The symmetrical body means it'll even suit southpaws, while an adjustable palm rest and two interchangeable sides can contort the mouse into claw, palm or hybrid grip styles. If cables frustrate, the good news is that the Razer Ouroboros works in wireless mode too, while the 8,200 DPI sensor and a built-in clutch trigger button should keep you on the edge of accuracy. Razer reckon its new dual sensor system can detect surfaces ten times faster than its last generation sensors. The mouse is priced at $140, but you'll have to hold out until Q4 before it arrives in stores.

Meanwhile, Razer's gaming keyboards have appeared in several new guises -- though they may not wow like the Ouroboros. The BlackWidow 2013 adds improved anti-ghosting feature will allow up to 10 simultaneous key presses, with an anti-fingerprint finish coating the whole thing. An Ultimate version adds backlit keys, while the Tournament edition is ten key-less, dropping the number pad to ensure a tinier footprint for gamers on the move. Prices start at $80 for the Tournament version, up to $140 for the Ultimate, with the whole familia BlackWidow set to launch next month.

Red coloured double-decker bus has always been associated with the city of London (among many things) and it has inspired various piece of artwork by artists throughout the world. With the 2012 Summer Olympics about to take place in the city very soon, a Czech artist named David Cerny took the famed icon of London and fused it with the spirit of Olympic to come out with...a double-decker bus that can do push-ups.

Named as “London Boosted” and currently on display at Czech House in London throughout the duration of Olympics, the push-ups action was made possible by a pair of giant robotic on the 1957 1957 Bristol Lodekka bus’ side. To make it more realistic (or more bizarre, your choice), the bus will also “groan” during push-ups. Just check it out in action below:

While the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is yet to make an appearance, one of its commercial has appeared online. The ad showcases how multitasking is improved with its multi screen feature where the web browser and S-Note application can be running side by side. It now even allows you to drag and drop items between them. Also new is a Shape Match feature which auto-shapes and tidies up your illustration after drawing graphs and charts with the stylus.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 is expected to be commercially available soon with with upgraded specs. It is said to be featuring a 1.4GHz quad-core processor that’s similar to the Galaxy S III, 2GB of RAM, InfraRed Port, 5MP rear camera, 1.9MP front facing camera and is juiced with a 7,000mAh battery. This is based from the unboxing done in Korea and hopefully they carry the similar configuration for international models.

Just like the 5.3″ Galaxy Note, the stylus is now stowable which is a great convenience.

The water and dust resistant Sony Xperia go is now available on contract with Celcom from as low as RM338. As usual, there are 3 plans available – Celcom Exec 50 + 1GB, Celcom Exec 50 + 3GB and Celcom Exec 250 which comes with 5GB data. In terms of contract duration, you have a choice of 12 months and 18 months.

For those plan to sign up, there’s also an upfront payment of RM300 for the Celcom Exec 50 plans and RM600 if you choose Celcom 250. This advance upfront payment will be rebated back to your account evenly across 12 months.

Using a Samsung Galaxy S3? Or even a Galaxy S2? Well, here’s a piece of rather fantastic news to you, it looks like you might be given the Android Jelly Bean update as early as next month! According to SamMobile’s insiders, the Korean manufacturer is currently testing Android 4.1 for both Galaxy devices and while there are no official release dates, they believe that it could be around August or September.

No news about other devices though, but according to the insiders, Samsung is targeting on its high-end devices so if you’re a Galaxy Note user, your chances are quite high as well.

On other news, one the advantages of owning a Google device is to be one of the first to enjoy Google’s latest updates and if you’re a Nexus S user, the Jelly Bean update is now available, for selected carriers at least. If I’m not mistaken, GSM users do not have the update yet but if you loyal users are still using your almost 2-year old device, do check for an update and let us know.

Maxis is offering discounted bundled pricing for port-in customers where the iPhone 4S & HTC One X is offered from as low as RM799 while the Samsung Galaxy Note & Nokia Lumia 900 from as low as RM599. The special pricing is tied with 24 months contract of Maxis Value Plus 50 postpaid voice plan + 1GB data plan that costs RM98/month (RM50 + RM48).

Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 device have appeared in the GLBenchmark database, showcasing graphics prowess almost on par with Snapdragon S4 Pro devices with Adreno 320 GPU, which currently occupy four of the top five slots there.



The GT-N7100 scores higher in the Offscreen test than the Galaxy S III, which might mean Samsung will overclock the Exynos 4412 in the eventual Note II to squeeze some extra performance, just like it did with the Galaxy S II and the original Note last year.



Indeed, the System Info tab shows 1.6GHz maximum frequency, whereas the Quad-core Exynos in the S III is clocked at 1.4GHz, hence the boost in the GT-N7100 performance.

Well, Samsung has something up its sleeve, we know that much. Whether or not we're looking at a new Note remains to be seen, but it's safe to assume Sammy will update its phablet line as it approaches its first birthday. So it's no wonder people's suspicions were piqued when a mysterious device made a brief appearance at GLBenchmark.com with the model number GT-N7100. The original Note was N7000, so obviously many are guessing this unnamed Ice Cream Sandwich device is its successor. All the details have since been pulled, but PhoneArena managed to snag a screenshot. Whatever it turns out to be, we know it's got a 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos 4412 processor with Mali-400 graphics -- the same you'll find inside the Galaxy S III. The one spec that does leave a bit of doubt however is the resolution, which is listed at juts 1280x720, instead of the 1280x800 of the original. In the benchmarks it manages to eke out scores slightly higher than the GSIII, which makes sense thanks to its higher clocked CPU. Now it's just time to sit back and play the waiting game.

Touch ‘n Go has announced that it, together with Maxis and CIMB, are in collaboration to introduce a transaction service that will allow you to use your NFC-enabled smartphones like Touch n’ Go cards. The service is expected to go online in two months’ time.

In addition, Touch n’ Go CEO, Abdul Karim Md Lassim said that the service will be made available to other operators six months after it is launched with Maxis.

While this is not exactly new news – Maxis talked about the same collaboration in March of this year – it’s certainly exciting to see how the service would actually work and if it will appeal to consumers. This is because contactless payment services are not actually new in Malaysia.

In addition to Touch n’ Go, we have the Visa Wave and Mastercard PayPass services that use the same NFC technology. In fact, payment via NFC-enabled phone was pioneered by Maxis with its FasTap service that was introduced way back in 2009, but we can see that these services are not really gaining much traction here.

We understand that through the service, CIMB account holders will be able to reload their devices using funds available in their bank account but beyond that not much detail has been revealed.

On the surface of it, when the service goes online, NFC-equipped smartphones will work much like Touch n’ Go cards to day but when you look at it in more detail, there a number of questions that needs to be answered. Like which NFC smartphones would be compatible with this service?

While you would think that all NFC smartphones have essentially the NFC capabilities built in them, they are in actual fact not created equal because when it comes to making transactions, you need a more secure type of NFC protocol and most of the devices in the market right now do not support this protocol.

We don’t know whether Touch n’ Go, Maxis and CIMB have found a way to bypass this but chances are you might have to get a new phone to use the service.

In addition, to make this upcoming service popular, the three companies (Touch n Go especially) will have to make the Touch n Go NFC panels ubiquitous. This means the panels must be available in more places than just at toll booths, LRT stations, in busses and at parking entrances.

The Touch n’ Go panels should be everywhere to 1) create awareness to the consumer on the availability of the service and 2) to give subscribers to service value and convenience because they can use their NFC phone to make payments almost anywhere.

There’s also the question of payment, does the service require a CIMB account or is it possible to top up the NFC phones just like you would your Touch n’ Go cards at 7-Elevens and petrol stations?

We don’t know but we’re pretty sure that the people at Touch n’ Go, Maxis and CIMB have thought about all these things and how to solve them to make the upcoming service as easy to adopt and as appealing to consumers as possible.

In any case, we’re just happy that the three parties will be offering the service as an option to the consumer. Kudos to them for pioneering this.

Yesterday, We reported that nano-SIM cards will be the New standard, Today BGR got some confirmed info that Apple's New Upcoming iPhone aka iPhone 5 will support nan-SIM cards Only.

The reports say that multiple carrier sources have confirmed to them the new iPhone will indeed be using micro-SIMs. Apple and the carriers are apparently at an advanced level of testing, with Apple supplying micro-SIM adapters to the carriers so they can test how nano-SIMs will work on their networks.

Still remember Microsoft's recent announcement? While they have previously pointed out that Windows 8 will arrive on consumers hand sometime in “late October”, this time around they have announced an exact date and the date is 26 October 2012.

The revelation was made by Steven Sinofsky, the President of Windows and Windows Live Division over at Microsoft during a recent annual sales meeting and this date applies to both upgrade channels as well as via new PCs. We’ve been seeing countless number of rumors regarding the new design of the 6th generation iPhone, but what will the inside be equipped with? New rumors confirms that the next iPhone will be getting double the amount of RAM on current models (from 512MB to 1GB), NFC connectivity and less important to us, 4G LTE connectivity.



According to sources from BGR, although the speculated launch date of the next iPhone is supposed to be around September to October, production has not started yet because it has to go through a series of testing first. It’s alleged to enter the “engineering verification tests” and once that’s done, there’ll be another “design verification test” before the production lines, so production hasn’t started and the company could only be using engineering samples.

On the other part of the world (or the other part of Apple’s HQ in Cupertino at least), it looks like the Chinese in China are really anticipating the next iPhone, so much so that they have already manufactured and are selling casing for the next iPhone based on the rumored designs we’ve seen so far. Available in China’s TVC-Mall.com, the casing sports a taller design to fit the 4” screen, and along the bottom there’ll be an earphone jack and a smaller dock connector.

You know how the Nokia 3310 has always been regarded as a brick that can be used as a hammer due to its size and of course, a very solid build? Well, the Nokia 3310 now has a contender and no, it’s not another 10 year old device, it’s the Oppo Finder, aka the world’s thinnest smartphone. Measuring at a mere 6.65mm thin, you would expect the device to be flimsy and fragile but it isn’t, instead, it could very well be your next hammer.

A video called “OPPO Finder screen hammer nail test” was recently uploaded and it demonstrated just how tough the device is. The phone was used as a hammer on not only the front, but also the back, side and corners. While the front was able to withstand the torture without a scratch, the rest got away with only minor scratches; the phone still worked perfectly well at the end. Unfortunately, all the guy in the video did was hammer the nail till the tip got through, I wonder if the phone will still be as tough when it’s been used to push the nail all the way through.

Microsoft has announced the newest version of office suite, "Office 2013", or as they call it, the new Office. The new Office comes with a host of new improvements, including changes to the UI as well as under the hood.



The most noticeable change is the new set of icons for all the apps within the suite. Just like the Windows 8 icon, Office icons feature a monochrome icon with a tilted perspective. The user interface of the applications has also been slightly modified to fit into the new Metro UI on Windows 8. However, the application isn't designed entirely with the Metro UI because at the end of the day it will be running within the desktop mode in Windows 8.

It's widely considered a tradition: Microsoft readies a new Halo game, and a new Xbox 360 bundle swings by stores to mark the occasion. Richard Branson has long said that he'd be on board Virgin Galactic's first commercial space tourism flight, and he's now confirmed that will take place sometime next year with his two adult children along for the ride (a bit of a delay from the company's original 2011 target). That trip will of course be made with the company's SpaceShipTwo craft, which has already completed a number of test flights, and which is capable of flying 100 kilometers (or just over 60 miles) above the Earth for a planned two and a half hour flight with five minutes of weightlessness. As the AP notes, some 529 people have already signed up for the $200,000 per person rides into space, each of whom will have to take part in a week of training prior to their trip. Update: It looks like this method works only if your device runs the yakju/takju of the Galaxy Nexus ROM. yakjuxw/jp versions — the ones that Malaysians get — will have to wait a little while more to get Jelly Bean. Sorry folks. For those who provided feedback, thanks for the info.

Alternatively if you don’t want to wait, you can convert your Galaxy Nexus to yakju/takju. This version is fully supported by Google whereas the other versions will get their updates pushed by Samsung or in some cases via operators. It’s a fairly simple process provided that you know what you are doing, and the methods are easy enough to find on the internet machine, just Google it.

If you’re a Galaxy Nexus owner and still have not gotten your Jelly Bean update yet you must be anxious, well here’s a way that might help get the latest Android version on your device faster.

From your Galaxy Nexus homescreen here’s what you do: Go to Settings > Apps > swipe to look for the “All” panel.

In the “All” panel, scroll down and look for “Google Service Framework” and tap that. Inside the “Google Services Framework”, tap on “Clear Data” and then “Force Stop”.

Once you’ve done that go back to settings and look for the update under “Systems Update” in “About Phone”. If it doesn’t work the first time around, try it for a few times, you might get lucky and get Jelly Bean faster than scheduled.

The Sony Xperia neo L hits Malaysian stores this month with a recommended retail price of RM888. Originally launched for the Chinese market in March this year, the Xperia neo L succeeds the Xperia neo with a larger 4-inch 480 x 854 pixels LCD display (approx. 245 ppi pixel density) from 3.7-inch on the outgoing model.

Aside from that, essential specs remain the same with a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM, 1GB of on board storage and a micro SD card slot that supports cards up to 32GB.

Curiously, the rear camera MP count has been reduced from 8MP on the Xperia neo to a 5MP unit, but then again, pixel count doesn’t determine picture quality, so the 5MP sensor in the Xperia neo L should be more efficient imaging unit despite the lower pixel count. Unlike the old neo, the camera on the neo L is capable of shooting 720p videos. There’s also a VGA resolution from camera.

Other highlights include Sony’s xLoud sound enhancement technology that delivers extra audio punch with minimal distortion and of course, the device is running Android 4.0.

The Xperia neo L comes in black and white, and for a limited time Sony will bundle the device with a car charger and Micro USB cable worth RM59.

According to thinkios source, Apple's iPad Mini will have a 7-inch screen, and will be 5.3-inch wide and 7.87-inch long. For the sake of comparison, the new iPad is 9.50-inches tall, 7.31-inches wide, and has a depth of 0.37-inches.



The new info is the size as the iPad Mini is shown to be just 0.29" (7.3mm) thin, almost as slender as the iPod touch, which will make it the slimmest slate on the market. It is also allegedly 5.3" (134.7mm) wide and 7.87" (200mm) tall.



Unlike Google's Nexus 7, the new iPad Mini will feature a rear camera as well as a front camera for Facetime. It is unknown at this point of time whether the device will have a 5-megapixel camera like the new iPad or will carry a VGA camera just like the iPod touch 4th generation and iPad 2.

We’ve seen a large number of watches from famous Tokyoflash before, the Kisai line features a wide range of different watches with very unique ways of telling the time that may take quite some time to learn and now, here’s a new Kisai Online. On top of all the things you normally find in a Kisai watch like “always on” LCD display, the Kisai Online here is equipped with accelerometer so it’ll only reveal the time to you.

Made out of lines, the watch is pretty easy to decrypt, as long as it’s held in the correct way – facing its owner. Available in three LCD colors – natural, blue or red, once the watch is held towards the user, the lines will fall together, displaying the time as shown in the image below; the date will also be arranged in the same manner and as with all the other Kisai watches, it also comes with alarm.



Kisai Online is also another design submitted by the public to the Tokyo Flash Design Lab that was turned from a concept into a reality. The lines on the display extend to the strap that can be fully adjusted to fit even the smallest and largest wrist.

Last week a report from MK Business News indicated that the Galaxy Note II gonna unveiled at the end of August during IFA 2012. The publication also hinted at some of the specifications, like 5.5-inch screen that would occupy the same space as the current Galaxy Note. And Now DDaily reports that that Samsung will hold a Mobile Unpacked event at IFA that will show off the successor to the Galaxy Note.

According to DDaily Samsung will hold this event on August 30th at 7pm in Berlin that will show off the Galaxy Note II. That's quite a specific time and date, and it lines up with previous reports that Samsung were planning an IFA 2012 reveal. Past rumors says that the device would come with a 5.5-inch screen, quad-core Exynos processor, and improved camera that would fall between 8- and 12-megapixels.

The device will not, however, feature an unbreakable plane display as was alluded to in previous reports. And it will run the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean, and the handset will reportedly be launched in time for September to get a head start on the next iPhone. The original Galaxy Note was released in Europe in November 2011 before making its way to AT&T in February.

Announced a few months back, Bank Negara are officially making the new bank notes a reality from the 16th Of July. The new notes will be in circulation alongside the existing banknotes which will remain legal tender. The theme for the banknotes will be "Distinctively Malaysia" and will feature iconic Malaysian sights like Mount Kinabalu as well as the Wau Bulan and Rafflesia flower. The new banknotes will come in the same denominations as the previous run with the exception of a new addition, the RM20 note. On top of that, the new RM1 and RM5 notes will be polymer as opposed to the regular material now.

The next iPhone may not be available in the market yet, heck, it isn’t even announced yet; it’s still at a stage where people get excited over leaked images and information, but it looks like it’s already up for pre-order in none other than China. According to reports, an e-commerce giant in China, Taobao, is now allowing users to preorder for the iPhone 5. The website even posted concept photos and specs on the site, and the price of the pre-order? USD$1,000! It is said that the seller plan to purchase the iPhone in other countries when it gets launched first like the U.S. or Hong Kong.

On other iPhone 5 related news, new images of what may be the second engineering samples have recently been leaked. The sample is pretty much consistent with what we’ve seen so far – larger screen, smaller dock connector, redesigned speaker and microphone grills, and such – except that it has back panels installed. I surely hope these purportedly leaked images are real, imagine if someone out there with a lot of free time were making various versions of the iPhone casing based on the first leak.

China, the land of possibilities, is showing us that it is indeed possible for you to get fakes of almost anything and everything there. Case in point, take a look at these Galaxy S III rip-offs.

Aside from looking very much like the original Samsung flagship smartphone, the Chinese fakes come in two versions, a low spec fake S III and a high spec version complete with a 4.8-inch, 720p display and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Even the fake box looks like the real one.

The low-end fake S III features a 4.7-inch 480×800 display, there’s also a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera. A far cry from the quad-core powerhouse that is the real Galaxy S III, the fake low-end version is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB RAM and a paltry 4GB of on-board storage, running an ancient Android 2.3 OS. On top of that, the device looks to be much thicker than the original S III. The low-end fake S III is selling for US$209 or RM664 at today’s exchange rate.

The high-end fake S III features a non-Super AMOLED 4.8-inch 1280×720 display, an 8MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera. There’s 1.2GHz dual-core MT6577 processor made by Taiwanese company MediaTek. The device comes with 1GB of RAM, an 16GB of on-board storage. You also get Android 4.0, TWO standard SIM card slots, a USB 2.0 port, and a 2500mAh Li-on battery. As if that’s not enough, the original accessories work with this knockoff of the S III. The device sells for US$272 or RM865 at today’s exchange range.

How many of you like what you see so far with regards to the next Apple iPhone and the rumored 7” iPad? The iPhone 5 is said to come with a 4” display and will be slightly larger in terms of dimension, while the iPad Mini should come with a display that measures between 7 and 8 inches and will take design cues from the iPod Touch, meaning that it’ll be much thinner than the current 10.1” iPads. According to some mockup designs of both devices found in Apple’s Chinese supply chain, it looks like whatever you’ve seen so far are what you’re going to get.

The iPhone 5’s mockup measures at about 120mm x 60mm, just about right to incorporate the larger 4” screen. Like all the leaked pictures we’ve seen so far, the back does come with a separation line, indicating that it should be made out of at least two different materials – glass and metal.

The iPad Mini on the other hand also seem to confirm the design we read about last week – as thin as an iPod Touch. Placed next to an iPad, the mockup looks extremely thin and if it is the real deal, it would be the thinnest tablet in the market, so far. It also matches a leaked casing with the same dock connector and speaker grills. Personally, I’m definitely keen to see how a tablet so slim would feel like but I’m also intrigued by the Nexus 7 especially with its price, if you were to pick, will you opt for Google’s very own 7” tablet or the iPad Mini?

The rugged and compact Sony Xperia go will be available in Malaysia starting tomorrow, 10th July onwards. The Xperia go is priced outright at RM999 and it will come with additional accessories such as 2GB microSD card and car micro USB charger worth RM87 for a limited time.

Announced just slightly a month ago, the Xperia go comes with a 3.5″ scratch resistant display that pushes 480×320 and is powered with a dual-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on board storage. Over at the rear, it comes with a 5MP camera that’s capable of shooting 720p videos.

The main highlight of the Xperia go is its dust and water resistant capabilities with IP67 rating. This means the device is sealed up tightly against dust and you can submerged it in water up to 1 metre for about 30 minutes. You can check out our first impression of the Xperia go in our hands-on review.

At RM999, this is similarly priced with its 3.7″ Xperia sola which also comes with similar dual-core 1GHz processor and 512MB specs. What sets them apart is the higher resolution on the Xperia sola that does 854×480 and the Xperia’s go rugged water and dust resistant capabilities. If you spend more time outdoors and prone of getting yourself wet, the Xperia go is a phone worth considering.

In terms of colours, there will be 3 choices with Black being available tomorrow onwards, followed by White sometime on 16th July and the striking yellow to be available later in Q3. After the Xperia go, we are anticipating more Xperia models to come into Malaysia such as Xperia ion and Xperia acro S which was recently announced for this region.

For the Samsung Galaxy S III, they are no longer shouting loudly about hardware specifications but rather on the unique features that they have. One of them is AllShare which lets you push content to the big screen and among your peers wirelessly. To demonstrate that, Samsung has released a series of videos that shows off AllShare’s advantage in various day to day scenario.

Of course, this only works if all your peers and family members are using a Galaxy S III and compatible devices from Samsung. Interestingly Samsung is no longer taking pot shots against Apple which they did last year and during their Galaxy S III teaser.

Source code for Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) has been released. We’re sure many of you will be downloading the new Android 4.1.1_r1 files simply to poke around, but CyanogenMod and countless other Android development groups around the globe will be spending countless hours pouring over every last line of code to see what changes will need to be made to integrate Jelly Bean into their existing code base.

Along with Android 4.1, Google has also released the proprietary binaries for the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus. Code for the “Nexus S and Xoom will follow.”

The CyanogenMod team has already predicted a quick turnaround with Android 4.1; let’s just hope they can keep their word. We’re still trying to decide which new Android 4.1 features we’re most excited about. Google Now definitely got the most buzz at I/O, but we think Project Butter will have more impact on users.
